- Abstract
- The aim of this project was twofold. The first part of this investigation was an attempt to produce a method for the rapid of ellagic acid from which a range of water soluble tetraalkylammonium salts could be prepared. These salts, once prepared, were to be tested for their suitability as metal precipitating agents. Ellagic acid, a commonly plant polyphenol is a waste byproduct of both the pulping and tanning industries. It is a known cancer agent and has been shown to have various pharmaceutical properties. ...."From abstract"; Bachelor of Applied Science
