All participants completed four exercise conditions over two sessions on separate days: approximately 30-seconds of knee extensors 100%, 60% and 10% of maximum voluntary isometric contraction (MVIC), and control (no contractions). Prospective time perception was estimated (at 5-, 10-, 20-, and 30-seconds) at the beginning of each session and while performing the exercise. A main effect for condition (p < 0.001, d = 1.06) with subsequent post-hoc tests indicated participants significantly underestimated (estimated time was shorter than chronological time) time in all three exercise conditions compared to the control. There were no significant age group differences. In conclusion, exercise underestimated time estimates regardless of intensity or age. This questions the postulated intensity-dependent relationship between exercise and time perception. While older adults were expected to be less accurate in their time estimates, they may have been able to adopt alternative strategies for agerelated changes in their internal clock, resulting in no significant age group differences. © 2023, Journal of Sport Science and Medicine. The kidney is not only an organ of key relevance to BP regulation and the development of hypertension, but it also acts as the tissue mediator of genetic predisposition to hypertension. The identity of kidney genes, pathways, and related mechanisms underlying the genetic associations with BP has started to emerge through integration of genomics with kidney transcriptomics, epigenomics, and other omics as well as through applications of causal inference, such as Mendelian randomization. Single-cell methods further enabled mapping of BP-associated kidney genes to cell types, and in conjunction with other omics, started to illuminate the biological mechanisms underpinning associations of BP-associated genetic variants and kidney genes. Polygenic risk scores derived from genome-wide association studies and refined on kidney omics hold the promise of enhanced diagnostic prediction, whereas kidney omics-informed drug discovery is likely to contribute new therapeutic opportunities for hypertension and hypertension-mediated kidney damage. © 2022 International Society of Nephrology]]> Thu 23 Mar 2023 11:55:08 AEDT ]]> Trends in, projections of, and inequalities in non-communicable disease management indicators in Vietnam 2010–2030 and progress toward universal health coverage : a Bayesian analysis at national and sub-national levels http://researchonline.federation.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:17457 Thu 23 Mar 2023 11:41:14 AEDT ]]> A suggested new term and definition to describe the cumulative physiological and functional effects of non-injurious head impacts http://researchonline.federation.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:17453 Thu 23 Mar 2023 11:34:08 AEDT ]]> Gambling disorder in the UK : key research priorities and the urgent need for independent research funding http://researchonline.federation.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:17260 Thu 23 Feb 2023 15:25:08 AEDT ]]> Where have all the diagnostic morphological parasitologists gone? http://researchonline.federation.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:17948 Thu 22 Jun 2023 11:50:21 AEST ]]> Psychometric properties of the caring efficacy scale among personal care attendants working in residential aged care settings http://researchonline.federation.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:18990 Thu 22 Feb 2024 16:01:13 AEDT ]]> Individual-specific relationship between external training and match load and creatine-kinase response in youth national team soccer players http://researchonline.federation.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:18989 Thu 22 Feb 2024 16:01:11 AEDT ]]> Cross-sectional study of soil-transmitted helminthiases in black belt region of Alabama, USA http://researchonline.federation.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:18987 Thu 22 Feb 2024 16:01:09 AEDT ]]> The influence of an attachment-related stimulus on oxytocin reactivity in poly-drug users undergoing maintenance therapy compared to healthy controls http://researchonline.federation.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:17864 Thu 21 Mar 2024 15:18:17 AEDT ]]> Compulsive exercise and its relationship with mental health and psychosocial wellbeing in recreational exercisers and athletes http://researchonline.federation.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:18753 Thu 21 Dec 2023 10:18:12 AEDT ]]> Lifestyle management of hypertension : International Society of Hypertension position paper endorsed by the World Hypertension League and European Society of Hypertension http://researchonline.federation.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:18750 140 mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure (DBP) at least 90 mmHg (International Society of Hypertension guidelines), affects over 1.5 billion people worldwide. Hypertension is associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) events (e.g. coronary heart disease, heart failure and stroke) and death. An international panel of experts convened by the International Society of Hypertension College of Experts compiled lifestyle management recommendations as first-line strategy to prevent and control hypertension in adulthood. We also recommend that lifestyle changes be continued even when blood pressure-lowering medications are prescribed. Specific recommendations based on literature evidence are summarized with advice to start these measures early in life, including maintaining a healthy body weight, increased levels of different types of physical activity, healthy eating and drinking, avoidance and cessation of smoking and alcohol use, management of stress and sleep levels. We also discuss the relevance of specific approaches including consumption of sodium, potassium, sugar, fibre, coffee, tea, intermittent fasting as well as integrated strategies to implement these recommendations using, for example, behaviour change-related technologies and digital tools. **Please note that there are multiple authors for this article therefore only the name of the first 30 including Federation University Australia affiliates “Fadi Charchar, Priscilla Prestes, Britt Klein, Colette Browning, Olutope Akinnibosun and Shane Thomas” are provided in this record**]]> Thu 18 Jan 2024 11:16:43 AEDT ]]> The trajectory of maternal perinatal depressive symptoms predicts executive function in early childhood http://researchonline.federation.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:19221 Thu 18 Apr 2024 15:19:17 AEST ]]> Coping strategies to overcome psychological distress and fear during COVID-19 pandemic in Kuwait http://researchonline.federation.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:19209 Thu 18 Apr 2024 14:30:17 AEST ]]> High-intensity interval training is safe, feasible and efficacious in nonalcoholic steatohepatitis : a randomized controlled trial http://researchonline.federation.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:18601 Thu 16 Nov 2023 12:28:29 AEDT ]]> Dietary supplements in people with metastatic cancer who are experiencing malnutrition, cachexia, sarcopenia, and frailty : a scoping review http://researchonline.federation.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:17411 Thu 16 Mar 2023 12:37:09 AEDT ]]> Differences between DSM-5-TR and ICD-11 revisions of attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder : a commentary on implications and opportunities http://researchonline.federation.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:18350 Thu 14 Sep 2023 13:20:24 AEST ]]> Can the workload–injury relationship be moderated by improved strength, speed and repeated-sprint qualities? http://researchonline.federation.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:17205 550–1000 AU) in workload than weaker athletes (OR = 2.54–4.52).
