Traffic lights were found to be positively associated with route choice during ATS. Zebra crossings were less often present along the actual routes (walking: OR = 0.17, 95 % CI = 0.05-0.58; cycling: OR = 0.31, 95 % CI = 0.14-0.67), and streets with a high occurrence of accidents were less often used during cycling to school (OR = 0.57, 95 % CI = 0.43-0.76). Moreover, percentage of visible surface water along the actual route was higher compared to the shortest routes (walking: OR = 1.04, 95 % CI = 1.01-1.07; cycling: OR = 1.03, 95 % CI = 1.01-1.05). Discussion: This study showed a novel approach to examine built environmental exposure during active transport to school. Most of the results of the study suggest that children avoid to walk or cycle along busy roads on their way to school. © 2016 Dessing et al.]]> Wed 08 Nov 2017 06:38:40 AEDT ]]> Health and economic burden of running-related injuries in Dutch trailrunners : A prospective cohort study http://researchonline.federation.edu.au:8080/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:11491 Wed 08 Nov 2017 06:37:21 AEDT ]]> Injuries in field hockey players : A systematic review http://researchonline.federation.edu.au:8080/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:13044 Tue 29 May 2018 11:50:59 AEST ]]> Working towards more effective implementation, dissemination and scale-up of lower-limb injury-prevention programs : Insights from community Australian football coaches http://researchonline.federation.edu.au:8080/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:13105 Tue 26 Jun 2018 10:17:57 AEST ]]> A knowledge transfer scheme to bridge the gap between science and practice : an integration of existing research frameworks into a tool for practice http://researchonline.federation.edu.au:8080/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:5455 Tue 14 Aug 2018 11:35:31 AEST ]]> Effectiveness of online tailored advice to prevent running-related injuries and promote preventive behaviour in Dutch trail runners : A pragmatic randomised controlled trial http://researchonline.federation.edu.au:8080/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:13491 Tue 12 Feb 2019 12:40:51 AEDT ]]> A knowledge transfer scheme to bridge the gap between science and practice: An integration of existing research frameworks into a tool for practice http://researchonline.federation.edu.au:8080/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:5892 Thu 09 Aug 2018 13:33:00 AEST ]]> A prospective cohort study on symptoms of common mental disorders among Dutch elite athletes http://researchonline.federation.edu.au:8080/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:13225 Mon 20 Aug 2018 11:41:11 AEST ]]> A 12-month prospective cohort study of symptoms of common mental disorders among professional rugby players http://researchonline.federation.edu.au:8080/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:13293 Fri 09 Nov 2018 12:07:33 AEDT ]]> Compliance with sport injury prevention interventions in randomised controlled trials : A systematic review http://researchonline.federation.edu.au:8080/vital/access/manager/Repository/vital:11178 Fri 02 Nov 2018 14:35:52 AEDT ]]>
