Original colour print of the site of an original oil bore on Old Bunga Road, Lake Tyers. The sign reads: This site is the first evidence of oil occurance in Australia. This well (Lake Bunga No 1) was spudded in on the 25th July 1924 by the Lakes Entrance Development Co. Oil was evident in small amounts at a depth of 325m in association with gas & ground water.
