- Description: In recent years, organisational software process education has seen a considerable uptick in interest in adopting business simulation games (BSGs) as a novel learning resource. However, the lack of reliable and valid instruments to evaluate simulation learning outcomes inhibits the adoption and progress of simulation in Information System education. To fill this need, we performed a systematic review of 33 empirical studies using the PRISMA declaration approach to identify the different evaluation methods used to analyse BSG learning outcomes. We created a concept matrix using a didactic framework that categorised these assessment methodologies into three game stages (pre-game, in-game and post-game). We established a comprehensive evaluation strategy using this concept matrix, which teachers and researchers may use to choose the best appropriate evaluation method to analyse a wide range of learning outcomes of business simulation games. Despite its multiple benefits, the adoption rate of BCT among organizations has not reached a significantly high level worldwide, thus requiring further research in this space. The present study addresses this issue in the Australian context. There is a knowledge gap in what specific factors, among the plethora of factors reported in the extant literature, affect the organizational adoption of BCT in Australia. To fill this gap, the study uses the qualitative interpretative research approach along with the technology-organization-environment (TOE) framework as a theoretical lens. The data was mainly drawn from the literature review and semi-structured interviews of the decision-makers and senior IT people from the BCT adopter and potential adopter organizations in Australia. According to the findings, perceived information transparency, perceived risks, organization innovativeness, organization learning capability, standards uncertainty, and competition intensity influence organizational adoption of BCT in Australia. These factors are exclusively identified in this study. The study also validates the influence of perceived benefits and perceived compatibility on BCT adoption that are reported in the past studies. Practically, these findings are helpful for the Australian government and public and private organizations to develop better policies and make informed decisions for the organizational adoption of BCT. The findings would guide decision-makers to think about the adoption of BCT strategically. The study also has theoretical implications explained in the discussion section. © 2022 Saleem Malik et al.

- Description: Drawing on information gathered from scoping interviews with graduate recruiters and industry experts in Australia, this study extends our understanding of how employers, rather than researchers, describe the desired work-ready skills for graduate/entry level roles in the Australian information and communication technology (ICT) industry. Contrary to the developing literature on work-readiness, the findings showed that the skills which contribute to work-readiness should not be limited to field-specific knowledge, skills and cognitive skills, but that they should be extended to include affective skills or personal attributes and behaviors, such as selfefficacy, willingness to learn, disposition, tolerance and integrity. Results have practical implications for developing academic programs aimed at enhancing cognitive and affective skills among IT graduates for employment potential and successful transition into work.

- Description: Ever-growing and rapidly changing healthcare information systems (HIS) encourage many new technologies to integrate with it to enrich the treatment and facilitate patients. Blockchain, a decentralised digital ledger, is legitimately disrupting traditional HIS due to its characteristics such as immutability, interoperability, decentralise, and security. Blockchain' applications in healthcare industries are attracting investors and organisations to develop platforms for future. However, security and privacy concerns hinder blockchain adoption in the health sector. Therefore, there is a need to develop deeper understandings about these issues and require strategies to address these issues so that the desired values can be obtained. Besides, privacy could mean different to different people such as patients, doctors, and admin staff. Therefore, there is a need to explore it from various stakeholder perspectives too. Using interpretive qualitative research approach, this research-in-progress will extend the body of knowledge by scrutinising the stakeholders' perception of privacy concerns and its relationship in blockchain based HIS. The findings of this study will contribute to address privacy issues emerged from the research and help to eliminate them before implementing blockchain. This paper supplies an appropriate research approach for multidimensional research in healthcare. In addition, this research-in progress will formulate a framework which provide awareness to stakeholders about privacy issues when they use blockchain based HIS in future. © 2022 ACM.

Researchers proposed different pedagogical approaches to teach ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) concepts such as ERPsim games to enhance students’ learning and job-readiness. Although the ERPsim studies verified the role of these games in enhancing students’ learning, whether these games contribute to student’s job readiness still needs to be explored. Using the mixed-method approach, this research-in-progress is designed to fill this gap by investigating the role of ERPsim game in increasing skills, learning levels, and job-readiness among university students in Australia. Literature is scarce around the explorative view of the blockchain adoption process and a need to identify the interplay of human and non-human elements at several points that influence the actions and ultimately the decision to adopt a blockchain application. This study investigates the blockchain adoption process from an explorative view and determines yet uncovered aspects to be considered before and while adopting blockchain. For this purpose, the study employed an Innovation Translation approach informed by Actor-Network Theory to identify the interactions among actors at each moment of blockchain adoption. - Description: Blockchain based framework provides data immutability in a distributed network. In this paper, we investigate the application of blockchain for peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trading. Traditional energy trading systems use simple passing mechanisms and basic pricing methods, thus adversely affect the efficiency and buyers' social welfare. We propose a blockchain based energy trading mechanism that uses smart passing of unspent auction reservations to (a) minimise the time taken to settle an auction (convergence time), (b) maximise the number of auction settlement; and (c) incorporate second-price auction pricing to maximise buyers' social welfare in a distributed double auction environment. The entire mechanism is implemented within Hyperledger Fabric, an open-source blockchain framework, to manage the data and provide smart contracts. Experiments show that our approach minimises the convergence time, maximises the number of auction settlement, and increases the social welfare of buyers compared to existing methods. © 2022 IEEE Computer Society. - Description: Over the last few years, business simulation games (BSGs) in higher education have attracted attention. BSGs tend to actively engage students with course material, promoting higher engagement and motivation and enabling learning outcomes. Increasingly, researchers are trying to explore the full potential of these games with an upsurge of research in the BSG field in recent years. There is a need to understand the current state of research and future research opportunities; however, there is a lack of recent systematic literature reviews in BSG literature. This study addresses this gap by systematically compiling online empirical research from January 2015 to April 2022. We followed PRISMA guidelines to identify fifty-seven (57) papers reporting empirical evidence of the effectiveness of BSGs in teaching and learning. Findings showed that BSGs improve learning outcomes such as knowledge acquisition, cognitive and interactive skills, and behaviour. - Description: Over the last few years, business simulation games (BSGs) in higher education have attracted attention. BSGs tend to actively engage students with course material, promoting higher engagement and motivation and enabling learning outcomes. Increasingly, researchers are trying to explore the full potential of these games with an upsurge of research in the BSG field in recent years. There is a need to understand the current state of research and future research opportunities; however, there is a lack of recent systematic literature reviews in BSG literature. This study addresses this gap by systematically compiling online empirical research from January 2015 to April 2022. We followed PRISMA guidelines to identify fifty-seven (57) papers reporting empirical evidence of the effectiveness of BSGs in teaching and learning. Findings showed that BSGs improve learning outcomes such as knowledge acquisition, cognitive and interactive skills, and behaviour. The review also summarises different issues concerning the integration of BSGs into the curriculum, learning theories used in the selected studies, and assessment methods used to evaluate student achievement in learning outcomes. - Description: Project managers' email in-boxes often contain hundreds of emails. Analysis of this incoming communication is most likely to provide potentially useful information about team members, their activities and their experiences while performing these activities. However, a project manager who wants to analyze indicators for the state of the project based on stored emails, faces the challenge of how to link semi-structured information on common concepts. Through measurable characteristics of inter-personal communication covering both factual (technical) and personal (human) factors extracted from observations and analysis of "communication" and "communication content", this paper presents a novel approach to application of "communication metrics". To increase project managers' competencies in decoding communication records from their email in-box we focus on "communication metrics" which enables identification of features that might negatively affect progress of the project, the project manager and team members. This in turn provides significant insights into indicators for the state of project health. © PACIS 2018.

The authors proposed the learning loop framework revealing several counterstrategies to mitigate cybersecurity issues in HERS. The counterstrategies are explored, and their implications for research and practice are discussed. Methodology: The qualitative methodology was adopted, and semi-structured interviews with cybersecurity experts and top managers were conducted. Results: This exploratory paper proposed the learning loop framework revealing introducing new policies and procedures, changing existing systems, partnership with other companies, integrating new software, improving employee learning, enhancing security, and monitoring and evaluating security measures as significant counterstrategies to ensure the cyber-safe working environment in HERS. These counterstrategies will help to tackle cybersecurity in HERS, not only during the current major crisis but also in the future. Implications: The outcomes provide insightful implications for both theory and practice. This study proposes a learning framework that prioritises counterstrategies to mitigate cybersecurity challenges in HERS amidst a major crisis. The proposed model can help HERS be more efficient in mitigating cybersecurity issues in future crises. The counterstrategies can also be tested, adopted, and implemented by practitioners working in other sectors to mitigate cybersecurity issues during and after major crises. Future research can focus on addressing the shortcomings and limitations of the proposed learning framework adopted by HERS. © 2024 by the authors.

- Description: Blockchain technology (BCT) is an emerging technology. Cybersecurity challenges in BCT are being explored to add greater value to business processes and reshape business operations. This scoping review paper was aimed at exploring the current literature's scope and categorizing various types of cybersecurity challenges in BCT. Databases such as Elsevier, ResearchGate, IEEE, ScienceDirect, and ABI/INFORM Collection (ProQuest) were searched using a combination of terms, and after rigorous screening, 51 research studies were found relevant. Data coding was performed following a framework proposed for scoping review. After careful analysis, thirty different types of cybersecurity challenges in BCT were categorized into six standardized classes. Our results show that most of the studies disclose cybersecurity challenges in BCT generally without pointing to any specific industry sector, and to a very little extent, few papers reveal cybersecurity challenges in BCT related to specific industry sectors. Also, prior studies barely investigated the strategies to minimize cybersecurity challenges in BCT. Based on gap identification, future research avenues were proposed for scholars.

- Description: While resilience is acknowledged as a complex construct and one that is difficult to assess, universities are recognising its importance. They are beginning to invest in research and services aimed at building student resilience. However, there is limited research into the levels of, and contributors to, student resilience. This study explored the effects of an experiential learning tool, business simulation games (BSGs), on the development of IS students' academic resilience. The researcher interviewed instructors conducting ERPsim labs to find out their views regarding the impact of BSGs on three aspects of the Resilience at University (RAU) scale: academic buoyancy, personal competence and social competency. Findings from the instructors' interviews demonstrated that Business simulations help students build resilience by offering a safe environment where they can fail, learn, and try again.
