- Abstract
- During the 1950s and 1960s, attempts were made to control erosion in the Avon River by constructing groynes from pre-cast blocks of low strength concrete. They were made of gravel from the bed opposite the eroding bank and carried across the stream by a flying fox.; Item held by Gippsland and Regional Studies Collection, Federation University Australia.
