- The first butter factory at Mirboo North, Mirboo North Dairy Company, commenced operations in 1893. A group of farmers have brought their milk to the factory in cans to be separated. The skim milk ran out into the holding tank, from which the farmers refilled their cans, to feed pigs. Mrs John Peters is in the spring cart, getting skim milk. The man with whiskers is William Peacock.; Item held by Gippsland and Regional Studies Collection, Federation University Australia.
