- The Ballarat & District Industrial Heritage Project wiki contains information and photographs from the The Ballarat & District Industrial Heritage Project. The wiki can be searched by themes and will concentrate on heavy industry in the central Ballarat area, but will not exclude other industrial areas. These include: • Ballarat School of Mines and industrial innovation and research and development; • Innovation infrastructure and processes in Ballarat’s mining and heavy engineering industries, including patents; • Foundries; • Railways and locomotive manufacture; • Timber yards; • Agricultural and mining engineering (e.g., HV McKay and Ballarat); • Biography of key personnel (e.g., mining engineer RM Sergeant); • Trades development and the Ballarat School of Mines; • Textiles, Clothing and Footware (ie Rivers, Paddle, Sunnyside Mill); • Food processing (Joe White; Sunshine biscuits; flour mills etc); • Bottling (beer; lemonade; water - Rowlands); • Availability and distribution of capital and equity in mining and heavy engineering; This wiki was officially launched in November, 2012.
