This well (Lake Bunga No 1) was spudded in on the 25th July 1924 by the Lakes Entrance Development Co. Oil was evident in small amounts at a depth of 325m in association with gas & ground water. They are carved from the original cypress trees that were planted as an Avenue of Honour for the servicemen and women of World War One.
