For our emerging regional artists, EYE is the culmination of their studies; a showcase of the skills, concepts and level of understanding acquired throughout their degree course. Guided by staff, final year students also assist with the publicity, curation and installation of their work in the gallery environment as a form of art industry practice, professionally exhibiting their work to family, friends and the broader community. Outstanding student achievement awards, generously donated by special award sponsors, will be announced at the opening event at each campus. Speaking Drawings : Works by Sally Miller
- Authors: Miller, Sally
- Date: 2016
- Type: Text
- Full Text: false
- Description: 9th March - 2nd April 2016 A compellingly beautiful yet tragic series of drawings make up this exhibition of nine works created by artist Sally Miller in the months before her death in mid 2015. Sally's life was prematurely cut short by a progressive neurological disorder called Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) - a degenerative disease that steadily cripples movement and bodily function. These nine large graphite on paper drawings, each accompanied by a brief description dictated by Sally in the last weeks of her life, reflect the harsh and progressive assaults on her body - a beautiful, powerful and compelling last testament to Sally's courage and fierce commitment to her artistic practice and creative imagination. Vin Ryan : Signs of Struggle
- Authors: Ryan, Vin
- Date: 2016
- Type: Text , Visual art work

- Description: 31st August - 24th September 2016 Vin Ryan's work has been described as an attempt at 'charting his neighbourhood surrounds and airing some of our dirty laundry’. He does this by methodically documenting the raw materials and minor details of everyday, urban existence. This exhibition is a very personal response to the artist’s own environment in Melbourne’s western suburbs. It is a record of setting but also situation. It considers the breadth of experience within a suburban setting by observing the nature strips, car parks and footpaths contained there. At the same time it also examines interior domestic spaces, inviting us to look with fresh eyes at the places that we call home within a suburban environment. Vin Ryan’s exhibition and recent work constitute the visual outcomes emerging from a practice-led research project for a Doctoral Award at the Arts Academy, Faculty of Education and Arts, Federation University Australia. Scala

- Type: Text , Visual art work
- Full Text:
- Description: Scala Exhibition held at Gallery FAB, 7th November-7th December, 2013 University of Missouri-St. Louis, St. Louis, Missouri The Visual art works comprising Scala investigated the manner in which nature is mediated through both architectural forms and topographic codes; abstracting and embellishing our sense of space, time and ancient/contemporary culture. In doing so the work arrives a point of new knowledge for the discipline in terms of mapping, displacement and the use of motif within our navigation of real and imagined spaces. The significane of this research is attested to by the fact that it was shown at two international, university art galleries; strengthening ties between the Arts Academy at the University of Ballarat amd other art/research institutions in the United States.

- Description: Part of the Peformance as our Duty exhibition, 1st Venice International Peformance Art Week, December 8-15, 2012 As opposed to directly evoking a particular migration story, the work instead sought to investigate the open-ended nature of these readings, via the incorporation of multiple, unstable visual signifiers such a flags, boats, clothing and a series of performative/sculptural gestures that continually foreclosed any possibility of a direct reading of the work. In this manner, the works sought to simultaneously link each of these gestures back to both the history of Australian settlement, as well as to the journeys/travels undertaken in classical myths and legends
