- Abstract
- The unsustainable nature of fossil fuels and conventional mass energy generation methods has promoted the use of renewable energy methods. Among them are solar panels which generate electricity using sunlight. However, there are numerous factors which hinder the performance of the solar panel and there are factors which increase its efficiency. Considering all those factors numerous features have been accommodated in the solar panel design to enhance the efficiency of the solar panels. Among them are: Solar Concentration, Solar Tracking, and Solar Panel Cooling. This paper covers the design, development, and experimentation of a prototype which had all these countermeasures integrated into it. The interesting aspect of this prototype was to utilize a fresh water pipe and gravity for solar panel cooling. © 2017 IEEE.; Proceedings - 2017 IEEE International Conference on Mechatronics, ICM 2017
