- Abstract
- 'Pleasure Framed' Exhibition of works by Wendy Bolger at the Post Office Gallery, University of Ballarat, 16 May - 9 June 2012. Wendy Bolger’s practice employs the frame as a structural and conceptual device where the potential of constraint in art making is explored, and through which both cultural and environmental concerns may be examined. With particular emphasis on the land and sites such as Lake Mungo, NSW, and Kaimai in New Zealand, Bolger re-examines white settlement and indigenous history, reconfiguring perceptions and associations of beauty, freedom and connection.
